(CNN) – A new report says that as the economy improves, more Americans are getting plastic surgery.
The report, published by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, says plastic surgery is on the rise for the second year in a row.
The report says about 1.6 Americans went under the knife for cosmetic reasons in 2011.
But numbers are still down from 2005, when a record 2.1 million people had cosmetic surgery.
Officials found another change in the report. It says every year, more and more Americans are opting for non-surgical procedures including botox, facial
fillers and laser hair removal.
